Bob Sherman's interest in commercial art started at New Trier High School, where he enjoyed lettering and designing ads for the school paper. He later worked as a commercial artist for the Penny Saver, an advertising paper in the south suburbs. Bob has tried other media but prefers oil. A meticulous artist, he strives for color intensity and contrast. To keep colors pure, he uses eight small turpentine cups, each with its own set of color-coded brushes. Bob serves on the art league board and helped to establish the annual Youth Art Fair.
